Dota 2 Team Bio – Natus Vincere
Introduction / Team Overview
Natus Vincere, often abbreviated to NaVi, is a Ukrainian esports organisation which has been running a Dota 2 team for several years now. The organisation as a whole was founded in 2009, and the Dota 2 team started up in October 2010. From 2011 until 2014, the team embarked on a golden streak, winning 20 Premier events and making it to the finals of three different Internationals. Their roster underwent a radical overhaul in late 2015, however, after a disastrous run of form which culminated in their failure to reach the 2015 Frankfurt Major. Two key players re-joined four days later, though, to help form the new version of the NaVi Dota 2 roster. These were Akbar ‘SoNNeikO’ Butaev and veteran performer Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin, who are both still with the team today, which is Natus Vincere top team info for those looking to bet.
Highlights / Strengths
The real strength of Natus Vincere is their successful history, which has given the team an aura which persists to this day. Nevertheless, there was a period in the team’s recent history when this golden halo became seriously tarnished. The team found itself back on track after replacing its roster, and then going on to win the 2016 StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2, where they beat Team Secret 3-1 in the final. That tournament win brought to an end a 20-month drought of tournament wins for the team, and was a real turning point in the team’s history.
Branding / Sponsorship / Logo
The Natus Vincere colours are black and yellow, and the team logo is simple and straightforward, consisting of ‘NaVi’ rendered as one letter, with the full team name emblazoned across the bottom. The team jersey is yellow with black trim, a pattern that is followed on other team products, such as their digital wallpaper. The team has a number of commercial partnerships and sponsorships in place with a variety of partners. These include streaming service Twitch and bookmakers GGBet, as well as G2A.com and HyperX.
Team Roles / Expertise/Divisions
NaVi’s Dota 2 roster is captained by Per Anders Olsson ‘Pajkatt’ Lille, a 24-year-old Swede who is a veteran of the Dota 2 circuit. Complementing Pajkatt’s experience are the unorthodox skills and shrewdness of another veteran, the Ukrainian Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin. Dendi is widely viewed as one of the most charismatic players of his generation, and is sometimes nicknamed ‘The Pianist’ due to his skills. Many Reddit discussions centre on his achievements and status in the world of esports. Another Ukrainian, Victor ‘GeneRaL’ Nigrini, is also on the team, and recently swapped roles from Mid Laner to Hard Laner.
